A & G Plumbing — the basics
What plumbing services do you offer?+
Residential plumbing across the board. Our listed services are water heaters (tank and tankless), drain cleaning and rooter work, sewer lines, leak detection, gas lines, faucets and fixtures, toilets, garbage disposals, water softeners and filtration, and repipes. If your problem isn't on that list, call and describe it.
Where are you based and who will show up at my home?+
We work out of Ventura at 1955 Arizona Dr, and A & G is family-owned and operated. The people who answer the phone are the people who do the work — you'll be talking to the business, not a dispatch center.
What are your hours?+
Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed Sundays. Call (805) 207-0801 during those hours, or email agplumbingandrooter@gmail.com and we'll pick it up next business day.
Are you licensed in California?+
Yes. A & G Plumbing and Rooter holds California contractor's licence number 1124358. You don't have to take our word for it — every California contractor's licence can be looked up by number on the Contractors State License Board website, which shows the licence status and classification directly from the state.
What should I ask before hiring any plumber in California?+
Ask for the contractor's licence number and check it yourself at the Contractors State License Board. Ask for the scope in writing, ask who is responsible for any permit the work requires, and ask what the warranty terms are before work starts. A straight answer to all four is a good sign.
How do plumbers price residential work?+
Small repairs are commonly priced per job, while larger work — heaters, sewer repair, repipes — is normally quoted after someone has looked at it, because access and what's behind the wall change the labour. Ask us about pricing and payment when you call and we'll tell you how your job would be handled.
What can I do before help arrives?+
Know where your main shutoff is and how to close it. For a single fixture, the angle stop under it does the same job. Shutting water off early is the difference between a repair and a repair plus flooring.
Which cities do you cover?+
Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Ojai, Port Hueneme, Somis, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara. If you're just outside that list, call and ask.
